What makes us a legal exchange office
Currency exchange is a regulated activity in Poland. We are entered in the register of currency exchange activity kept by Narodowy Bank Polski under number 20550. You can verify the entry yourself in the public NBP register.
Being in the register does not mean the NBP licenses or endorses us. It confirms that we meet the requirements for running an exchange office.
When we ask for ID
Any transaction equivalent to EUR 15,000 or more (at the NBP mid-rate for the given day) is an above-threshold transaction. In that case we are required to establish the client identity from a photo ID: a national ID card, a passport or a residence card.
This is not our preference but an obligation under Polish anti-money-laundering law. Without a document such a transaction cannot go through.
How the exchange works
The rates published on this site are for information only and do not constitute an offer within the meaning of art. 66 of the Polish Civil Code. We update them during the day — the time of the last change is always shown under the table.
The online rate applies at the counter: show it to the cashier before the transaction. The final rate is confirmed at the moment the transaction is made.
Banknotes outside the table rate
The rates shown do not apply to:
- small denominations,
- written-on, damaged or soiled banknotes,
- older series,
- coins.
We price such banknotes individually at the counter, or do not accept them at all.
Complaints
You can file a complaint in person at the counter or by phone at +48 884 886 181. We reply no later than 30 days from the date it is filed. This is our own service commitment, not a statutory deadline.
Please keep your transaction confirmation — it speeds the matter up considerably.

The controller of personal data is DIS Sp. z o.o., ul. Żelazna 51/53, 00-841 Warsaw. The scope of data, the legal grounds and your rights are described in our privacy policy.
What we do not do
- we do not exchange currency online — every transaction happens at the counter at Żelazna 51/53,
- we do not make money transfers,
- we do not deal in cryptocurrencies,
- we do not give investment advice and do not tell you when to buy or sell a currency.
