Which rate applies to you?

Changing euro into złoty. Select EUR under “You give” and PLN under “You get”. You get our “We buy” rate: the number of złoty we pay you for 1 euro.

Buying euro with złoty. Select PLN under “You give” and EUR under “You get”. You pay our “We sell” rate: the number of złoty 1 euro costs you.

The “We sell” rate is higher than the “We buy” rate. We earn on that gap, the spread, so we charge no commission in either direction.

How many złoty will I get for 100 euro?

Multiply 100 by the “We buy” rate and you have the złoty you get for 100 EUR. If you are buying euro, multiply 100 by the “We sell” rate to see what 100 EUR costs. We have done the maths for a few common amounts below, at the same rates as the card at the top of the page.

EUR to PLN for common amounts at the rate on this page
Amount We buy EUR → you get We sell EUR → you pay
50 EUR 218.50 PLN 219.50 PLN
100 EUR 437.00 PLN 439.00 PLN
200 EUR 874.00 PLN 878.00 PLN
500 EUR 2,185.00 PLN 2,195.00 PLN

Why our rate differs from the one on Google

Search “euro to PLN” and Google shows you a single number: the mid-market rate from the interbank market, halfway between buying and selling, with no cost of handling cash. The National Bank of Poland (NBP) publishes its own mid-rate on business days. We use it, for example, to check whether a transaction reaches the EUR 15,000 threshold for ID. At a counter you trade at a buy rate or a sell rate, so compare those two numbers.

When you compare exchange offices in Warsaw, check five things:

  • Both rates together, because the gap between buying and selling is what the exchange costs you. The smaller it is, the less you lose when you buy euro before a trip and sell the rest when you get back.
  • Whether there is a commission. Ours is 0 PLN, whatever the amount.
  • When the rate was last updated. A rate from a few hours ago may have moved. We change ours by hand during the day and show the date and time of the last change on the rate card.
  • Whether the online rate applies at the counter. Ours does, as long as you quote it before the exchange begins.
  • An entry in the NBP register. Ours is number 20550, and you can check it in the NBP search.

Do you need euro or złoty in Warsaw?

Poland does not use the euro. Shops, restaurants and public transport in Warsaw charge in Polish złoty (PLN), so change your euro into złoty before you head out if you want cash for your stay.

If you have złoty left at the end of your stay, change them back into euro at the same counter. In that direction the “We sell” rate applies.

Reserve the rate before you come

  1. Work out the amount in the calculator.
  2. Click “Reserve this rate” and leave your phone number and email address.
  3. Check the currencies, the direction of the exchange and the amount, then send the request.
  4. Come to the counter within 60 minutes, and before closing time.

Reservations are available only during opening hours, excluding public holidays. The rate is valid for up to 60 minutes from submission, but no later than closing time. A reservation does not guarantee cash availability. If the amount you need is unavailable, we will call you.

Which euro banknotes do we accept?

We accept both series of euro banknotes: the first series, in circulation since 2002, and the newer Europa series. Both are legal tender, and we exchange both at the rates on this page, in denominations from €5 to €500.

The €500 note exists only in the first series. Euro area central banks stopped issuing it in 2019, but it has kept its value, so we take it like any other note. The European Central Bank describes both series on its website.

The rates on this page do not apply to low-denomination banknotes. Call +48 884 886 181 before your visit to check the terms. We do not accept euro coins or damaged banknotes. Read the exchange rules

When do you need ID?

We ask for photo ID (a passport, national ID card or residence card) for any transaction equivalent to EUR 15,000 or more at the NBP mid-rate for the day. We may also ask for ID in other cases provided for by anti-money-laundering and counter-terrorist-financing law, including for lower amounts.
