Which Swiss franc notes do we accept?
We take every note of the current ninth series from the Swiss National Bank (SNB): 10, 20, 50, 100, 200 and 1,000 francs. All six go at the CHF rate on this page, the 1,000-franc note included.
| Notes | Values | How we exchange them |
|---|---|---|
| Ninth series, no portraits | CHF 10–1,000 | at the CHF rate on this page |
| Eighth series, with portraits | CHF 10–1,000 | not accepted |
| Coins, including CHF 5 | all | not accepted |
The SNB issued the ninth series between April 2016 and September 2019. The notes carry no portraits: each value shows a hand and a globe. All of them are legal tender.
We do not accept eighth-series notes. These are the francs with portraits of well-known Swiss figures, such as Le Corbusier on the 10-franc note and Alberto Giacometti on the 100-franc note. The SNB recalled them on 30 April 2021, and they are no longer legal tender. You can still exchange them at full value, with no deadline, at the cash offices of the Swiss National Bank in Bern and Zurich.
We do not take coins either, the 5-franc coin included, so spend your change before you leave Switzerland. We also do not accept damaged notes. Read the exchange rules
Which rate applies to you?
Changing francs into złoty. Select CHF under “You give” and PLN under “You get”. You get our “We buy” rate: the number of złoty we pay you for 1 franc.
Buying francs with złoty, for example before a trip to Switzerland. Select PLN under “You give” and CHF under “You get”. You pay our “We sell” rate: the number of złoty 1 franc costs you.
The “We sell” rate is higher than the “We buy” rate. We earn on that gap, the spread, so we charge no commission in either direction.
How many złoty will I get for 100 francs?
Multiply 100 by the “We buy” rate and you have the złoty you get for CHF 100. If you are buying francs, multiply 100 by the “We sell” rate. The note value makes no difference: five 20-franc notes get the same rate as one 100-franc note. The table below covers each note value from CHF 10 to CHF 1,000, at the rate on the card at the top of the page.
| Amount | We buy CHF → you get | We sell CHF → you pay |
|---|---|---|
| CHF ninth-series notes, CHF 10 to CHF 1,000 Based on the rate of | ||
| 10 CHF | 46.90 PLN | 47.40 PLN |
| 20 CHF | 93.80 PLN | 94.80 PLN |
| 50 CHF | 234.50 PLN | 237.00 PLN |
| 100 CHF | 469.00 PLN | 474.00 PLN |
| 200 CHF | 938.00 PLN | 948.00 PLN |
| 1,000 CHF | 4,690.00 PLN | 4,740.00 PLN |
We do not accept eighth-series notes or coins.
The rates are for information only and do not constitute an offer within the meaning of art. 66 of the Polish Civil Code.

Why our rate differs from the one on Google
Search “CHF to PLN” and Google shows you a single number: the mid-market rate from the interbank market, halfway between buying and selling, with no cost of handling cash. The National Bank of Poland (NBP) publishes its own mid-rate on business days. We use it, for example, to check whether a transaction reaches the EUR 15,000 threshold for ID. At a counter you trade at a buy rate or a sell rate, so compare those two numbers.
When you compare exchange offices in Warsaw, check five things:
- Both rates together, because the gap between buying and selling is what the exchange costs you. The smaller it is, the less you lose when you buy francs before a trip and sell the rest when you get back.
- Which notes the rate covers. Ours covers every ninth-series note from CHF 10 to CHF 1,000.
- Whether there is a commission. Ours is 0 PLN, whatever the amount.
- When the rate was last updated. We change ours by hand during the day and show the date and time of the last change on the rate card.
- Whether the online rate applies at the counter, and whether the office is in the NBP register. Our rate applies as long as you quote it before the exchange begins, and you can check our entry, number 20550, in the NBP search.
Do you need francs or złoty in Warsaw?
Poland uses the Polish złoty (PLN). Shops, restaurants and public transport in Warsaw charge in złoty, so change your francs before you head out if you want cash for your stay. If you have złoty left at the end of your trip, you can buy francs back at our “We sell” rate. For a larger amount, call ahead to check we have the cash.
Reserve the rate before you come
- Pick CHF and the amount in the calculator.
- Click “Reserve this rate” and leave your phone number and email address.
- Check the currencies, the direction of the exchange and the amount, then send the request.
- Come to the counter within 60 minutes, and before closing time.
Reservations are available only during opening hours, excluding public holidays. The rate is valid for up to 60 minutes from submission, but no later than closing time. A reservation does not guarantee cash availability. If the amount you need is unavailable, we will call you.
When do you need ID?
We ask for photo ID (a passport, national ID card or residence card) for any transaction equivalent to EUR 15,000 or more at the NBP mid-rate for the day. We may also ask for ID in other cases provided for by anti-money-laundering and counter-terrorist-financing law, including for lower amounts.

Do you take Swiss coins?
No, we do not exchange coins, the 5-franc coin included. Spend your change in Switzerland, or keep it for your next trip.
